28 Dec My Realtor is gone for the holidays, but I want to see a house. Now what?
Your agent is gone for the holidays, but you want to see houses. What should you do? Well, the fact that you’re asking yourself this is in itself a problem. Your agent leaving town without a support system is a mistake.
When I leave town I make certain that I have a working partner (another Realtor) who is available to show houses for my buyers. It’s really that simple. The going on vacation Realtor simply needs to make sure a fellow agent is available to do things they cannot do while they’re out.
Buyers routinely call listing agents assuming the listing agent will “unlock the door.” That is not always the case. Sometimes the listing agent is also out of town.
It is the BUYERS AGENT responsibility to make sure their buyers are taken care of. Through and through, not just when it comes time to type up an offer and review comparable sales. I would never want my buyers looking at homes with listing agents. The listing agent (can work for a buyer) but in the majority of situations works for the seller. In fact, when you first talk to a listing agent they are working for the seller, not you!
